The popularity of Indian domain names is on the rise - values are increasing on good keyword domains as well as short (3 letter) indian domain names. There is a lot of positive vibe when it comes to .in domain names and domainers are starting to pay more attention to this market. One question we hear a lot is “Where to register Indian Domain Names?”
Well, there are quite a few places to register Indian (.in) domain names, but our favourites are ResellerClub based registrars:
EstDomains.com and Mitsu.in
Mitsu offers slightly cheaper registration and renewal (around $15 USD for .in’s - actually its the cheapest .in domain registrar we’ve come across) but the currency is in Indian Rupees - if you don’t mind using a calculator to do the conversions then you could be saving around $2-$3 USD compared to other registrars.
EstDomains has been very reliable for us, prices are slightly higher ($16-$17 for .in’s) but we’ve been happy to use them for the last couple of years. Registration and renewal prices are about $1 or $2 more compared to mitsu.in
eNom.com also offer .in registrations, as do Moniker.com (just under $19) - we like both of these too… slighltly more expensive, but being reputable registrars and ICANN accreddited registrars means you’ll have more peace of mind with these two.
What other registrars do you know of?
We know there are hundreds of other registrars that offer dot IN (.in) domain name registration, but we want to hear from you - what you think… have you used other registrars? What were the prices like? Which .in registrar is your favorite? Which do you think is the best .in domain registrar?

Hi Dezine Gen, to answer your question… well first of all a good keyword in any extension (.com .net .in .co.uk etc.) will command a big value, especially to end users.
The thing with .in domains is that its still at an early stage and there are still good names left to register - or - to buy from the domainers on the aftermarket at very cheap prices.
The good thing is, the values of these names are rising constantly. Especially with 3 letter .in domains (all taken but can be bought for cheap from resellers).
You can invest quite easily without breaking your bank in a LLL.in - you could get them for as little as $15-$25 on the reseller market right now. But these same domains will most likely be worth double if not more by mid 2009.
Demand is getting bigger as the more and more people and businesses in India come online! Its a fast developing country and demand will continue to rise for good domain names over the next couple of years.
